Whole & Part, Translation Across Modality, Memory & Trace 2020

In this project I develop contemporary sound and painting responses to the influences of German composer, Ludwig van Beethoven. Applying research conducted over the past year to the creation of a new sound and painting installation, this project culminates in a confirmed solo exhibition across two rooms at Das Esszimmer, Bonn Germany.

The project explores three interrelated concepts. The relationship between whole and part is explored through fragmentary compositions. I also question simple notions of causal translation between media and senses by complicating translation. Lastly, the use of memory and trace is explored through targeted installation narratives.
