These paintings draw on musical ideas of traces, reverberations and resonances. Physically these paintings consist of traces of other paintings, paintings they have touched, but can now only distantly refer to. Thus, the front of these canvases might be a remnant, or a memory, or of a reverberation of a process past. The sides of these canvases reveal that they also functioned as stencil edges for other paintings, again revealing references to absences.
