Statement

A Statement on my Work I work across painting and sound disciplines through easel painting, painting and sound installation, sound performance and composition. By engaging painting and sound art practices in a creative dialogue I seek to extend frameworks for their creation and reading. If painting's primary dimension is spatial and sound's primary dimension is temporal, then installation space provides an ideal playground for their overlap and juxtaposition. When put into practice this does not necessarily result in a simple synesthetic blending of sense experience: It more likely results in a suspenseful dialectic between 'causal relations' and 'awkward un-relations'.
